The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the largest technical professional organization in the world. Since 1975, the IEEE has been a diverse group of students at Carleton interested in engineering, computer science and other technical fields! We are a smaller community within the IEEE Ottawa Branch and host numerous social events throughout the year at Carleton and across the Greater Ottawa Region. No- you do not have to be in electrical engineering or anything engineering to join! So, if you know people who are interested in being a part of a tight-knit group we are always ready to welcome in new members. Feel free to share this newsletter with your friends as well!

We are hiring!!! IEEE is currently hiring two positions that will run all year round. Do you want to add an awesome postion to your resume? Here are the three positions we are hiring:
Be in charge of organizing Technical Workshops and Seminars. Communicate with other clubs about our events.
Help update and maintain our website. Ensures server is working. Maintain the domains and hostings
Represent IEEE events on campus! Design posts for the WIE social media pages

Interested in learning all the ins and outs of finding your first co-op? Want to hear from successful students in various industries? Want to come out and ask one question at IEEE’s STAMPED EVENT? Well look no further, the IEEE SCESOC intern panel boasts a variety of panelists that want to share their co-op experiences and answer all your burning questions!

Do you have a dream? A vision? SLAM is a project that allows students use IEEE Carleton materials and facilities to create their dream projects. This includes 3D Printing, Wires, PCB Design and many other tools that can bring your idea to life! This activity runs throughout the year, so feel free to submit a project whenever!

Wine and Cheese is an event hosted by the IEEE Women In Engineering (WIE) Student Branch. It is one of our biggest networking events. In general the IEEE WIE Student Branch hopes to encourage the inclusion of women+ within engineering and all other technical fields.
Some other IEEE WIE Carleton specific events include Cocoa and Cram, Self Care Night, Professor Panel, and more!
cuHacking is the official hacking event hosted by Carleton University. It is for hobbyists, aspiring developers, or anyone who is interested in programming. It is a chance to learn, develop your skills and win prizes!

The IEEE Student Professional Awareness Conference (SPAC) is a formal dinner and networking event that connects our student branch with partners throughout the entrity of the engineering community. With around 100 companies to connect with there are loads of oppurtunities for students to enter the industry
